This cartoon illustrates the frustrations experienced by Americans as the Republicans and Democrats square off in Congress, but have yet to get anything done at all. Interestingly enough, the ring girl represents the thoughts of Americans as they watch and wait for Congress to make a move and decide on a budget. The debate has been going on for far too long, and the whole nation is waiting for our lawmakers to decide what to with our budget. Though the government shutdown will not have the effect most concerned people fear it will, but nonetheless it is an unnecessaryshutdown that could have and should have been avoided.

Oh Pastor Jones

This cartoon is a direct allusion to the common American's opinion of utter stupidity expressed by Pastor Jones by burning the Quran. He has not only made a fool of himself, but has enraged the country of Afghanistan and other Muslim nations by showing this complete act of hatred and disrespect for the Muslim religion. Our troops are just beginning to retain control and order in the country of Afghanistan, and now are easy targets for these angry protesters to unleash their anger on. Pastor Jones have paved the way for and outrage and inevitably more conflict and an increase in tensions with Islamic nations.
